Join us on Sunday, October 4, for our Fourth Annual No Book Left Behind Festival! This family-friendly event celebrates great books and encourages everyone to help our children read and learn about diverse experiences around the world. The event runs from noon to 5 pm. 

This year’s festival will feature three prominent queer authors:

1 pm: Manil Suri, PhD, emeritus university professor of mathematics at the University of Maryland, and author of the memoir A Room in Bombay.

2:30 pm: Bree Fram, a retired U.S. Space Force colonel, and co-editor of With Honor and Integrity and With Valor and Visibility, and co-author of Forging Queer Leaders.

4 pm: Charles H. Ford, PhD, a historian and professor at Norfolk State University and the co-author of Queer Virginia.

The festival will host community organizations, vendors, and local artists, including the Madison County Library, Madison Literacy Council, MADSafe, NAACP Culpeper, and Hundred Acre Books. A craft table will be available for children, and the Illicit Food Service will provide a variety of empanadas for purchase.

Buena Vista (BV) Pride Coalition is hosting a talk from retired U.S. Space Force colonel Bree Fram from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7 at the Chaffee County Public Safety Complex (200 Steele Drive, BV).
