National Security

Picture
National security is the collective ability of Americans to live free from fear, coercion, or disruption by hostile state and non-state actors. It is about preventing conflict through deterrence, cooperation, and the strength of shared purpose. True national security is built on a resilient and united team of people, capabilities, and allies, so strong that armed conflict becomes unthinkable. It thrives on shared strength, mutual success, and collective stability. It is rooted in democratic institutions, economic vitality, accessible education, inclusivity, and enduring national values.

National security is not about being the biggest or most aggressive force. It is not a contest of who has the most ships, planes, or weapons. It is not about dominating others or projecting power for its own sake. Nor is it a zero-sum game where gains for Americans must come at the expense of others. Security built on fear, exclusion, or unchecked force is fragile. Lasting security comes from trust, cooperation, and the confidence that comes with principled strength.
