Effective and Efficient Government

Picture
Effective and efficient government rapidly and accurately delivers accessible services to the American people, prioritizing digital modernization to the greatest extent possible. It includes a federal workforce incentivized to focus on meaningful outcomes rather than compliance with complex, outdated procedures. Trusted Artificial Intelligence tools should be leveraged to simplify laws and policies, promote transparency, enhance accountability, and provide equitable access—particularly by untangling overly complex legal and regulatory frameworks that disproportionately favor the wealthy or well-connected.

While our government intentionally contains checks and balances to ensure accountability, we must avoid becoming so ponderous that critical services fail to meet public needs. Trust in government is often shaped by the responsiveness and ease of interaction with agencies such as the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the IRS, or FEMA, as well as the regulatory bodies overseeing businesses. When these essential organizations use outdated technology, are understaffed, or operate with deliberate opacity, Americans suffer and lose faith in their government. Proactively addressing fraud, waste, and abuse through independent, well-staffed inspectors general reinforces public confidence, institutional integrity, and the principle that government exists to serve all Americans fairly and effectively.
